My name is Kasey Sumearll-Ellis, but you can call me Mrs. Ellis. I am currently a special education instructional assistant, a George Fox University elementary education teaching candidate, and an aspiring fourth grade teacher.
I have a student-centered teaching philosophy that emphasizes student responsibility and believe I must model the respect and behavior I expect from my students. I believe children learn best through hands-on experiences and need personalized instruction to meet their needs as individuals.
You can find me in Bend, Oregon hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, or soaking up the beautiful central Oregon sun with my two huge pups and husband. I love trying new things, learning, but most of all, connecting to people. Learning and compassion are at the core of my foundation, and are what brings me to teaching.
